For Preparation of Jeera Rice Recipe, you need to go through the following steps:
Measure 2 cups of basmati rice and rinse it under cold water until the water runs clear.
Soakthe rinsed rice in water for 25 minutes.
Drain the soaked rice using a sieve and set it aside.
Cooking Process of Jeera Rice Recipe:
Heat ghee or oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add cumin seeds to the hot ghee/oil and let them sizzle for a few seconds until they release their aroma.
Add cinnamons, cloves, and black pepper seeds.
Add the soaked basmati rice to the saucepan and saute it gently for 2-3 minutes.
Pour 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Then add some salt.
Cover the pan and let the rice cook for about 15-20 minutes on low heat or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked to perfection.
Once the rice is cooked enough, turn off the heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes. This assists in fluffing up the rice and steaming it.
Fluff the rice with a fork gently to separate the grains.
For that extra freshness and aroma, garnish with some fresh coriander leaves.
